Freight Builder at Schiphol – be part of the world behind the scenes
Kickstart your workday right in the heart of one of Europe’s busiest airports. As a Freight Builder, you’ll be working at the logistics hub where cargo from all over the world comes together. From medical equipment to luxury goods, everything passes through your hands. You make sure cargo is safely, smartly, and efficiently built onto aircraft pallets. Your day starts with a cup of coffee, you check the schedule, and then get to work building freight. You work alongside colleagues who, just like you, enjoy getting things done, and you end your shift with the satisfaction of having made a real impact.
Tasks
Independently building aircraft pallets with various types of cargo
Building cargo for different aircraft types and contours
Working with special cargo such as outsized and centerload shipments
Checking and registering cargo build-up
Coordinating with internal and external parties during the process
Preparing cargo for transport to the aircraft
Identifying irregularities and special situations
Working according to Schiphol’s safety and quality standards
Contributing to a smooth logistics process from start to finish
We are looking for
At least 3 months of experience in building aircraft pallets
Willingness to work in a 24-hour roster (including nights and weekends)
Proficiency in Dutch or English
Forklift experience
Knowledge of weight, balance, and aircraft loading requirements
A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
Able to work independently as well as in a team
Proactive work attitude and strong communication skills

Mon–Sat between 00:00 and 07:00: +40%
Saturday daytime (07:00–19:00): +25%
Sunday all day: +40%
