As a reach truck driver, you work independently and precisely in a dynamic logistics environment. Your work schedule is Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00. You navigate smoothly through the warehouse, pick the right goods, and keep everything organized. You make sure everything runs like clockwork, literally and figuratively.
What your workday looks like as a reach truck driver
You start your day on-site with a cup of coffee and a quick briefing with your colleagues. Together, you go over the schedule and check if there are any special instructions. Then it’s time to hop on your reach truck and begin your first runs. You move pallets, load and unload trucks, and make sure everything matches the packing slips.
Throughout the day, you keep the warehouse organized by storing stock in the right locations. You use a scanner to pick orders and prepare shipments for dispatch. The work is varied, physically active, and gives you the space to find your own pace.
In the afternoon, there’s time for a lunch break with your team. After that, you get back to work and help prepare the final shipments for departure. Before you know it, it’s 5:00 PM. You end the day with a sense of accomplishment — everything is in its place and you’ve played your part in a smooth logistics operation.
Tasks
- Loading and unloading incoming freight.
- Checking incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy and quality.
- Storing goods in the correct location using a reach truck.
- Picking orders using a scanner.
- Preparing orders for shipment (packing).
- Booking and registering shipments in the system.
- Daily inspection and basic maintenance of your reach truck.
- Collaborating with colleagues to keep processes running smoothly.
We are looking for
- A valid reach truck certificate and work experience.
- Experience in warehouse work and operating a reach truck.
- Proficiency in Dutch or English.
- Availability from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.
- Accuracy and the ability to work independently.
- Living in or near Schiphol or easily reachable.
- Reliability and keeping to your commitments.
